WORKSHOPS

Workshop sessions will run at the same time as the Speed Dating sessions.

Saturday 19 April

14:30-15:30
Workshop 1
Finance for Marketing
Shai Vyakarnam, Transitions

You want to expand and grow. Or you want to hold off competition. Both these strategies require resources for marketing, but the tight budgets may be holding you back. Where will you find the finance to put back into your marketing effort? This workshop will look at both the crunchy finance issues that you must know if you are to fund your growth and look at some creative low cost ways of marketing – Gorilla marketing techniques.

15:30-16:30
Workshop 2
Triton ATOL - What the New Guidance Notes Means to Me & Triton’s New ATOL Solution
Jason Edwards, The Global Travel Group

NB This workshop only applies to ABTA members, i.e. Worldchoice, Advantage and Independent options members. It's not relevant to Global members as Global operates a different systerm.

The recent guidelines on “what is a package” means that many dynamic packages will require an ATOL. The new hard line stance of the CAA regarding ATOL offenders means that many members are concerned that they could be inadvertently making a package and are at risk from both customer claims and the CAA. In this session we will present a no nonsense and impartial view of the latest guidelines, explaining that the safe way to package and increase margins is to use the Triton group ATOL scheme.

Sunday 20 April

10:30-11:30
Workshop 3
Leading Small Teams
Shai Vyakarnam, Transitions

Whether you are in a large or small organisation, on a day to day basis you will probably have a small team of people reporting to you or working with you. This requires the ability to motivate, inspire and manage your team. This active workshop will provide you with a few quick practical takeaways to make managing small teams more of a pleasure!

11:30-12:30
Workshop 4
The Cruise Forum
Andy Harmer, ACE

The Cruise Industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in travel, and with great levels of repeat business and high levels of commission, it is a great opportunity for agents to switch to cruise. In this workshop Andy Harmer, the Director of the Association of Cruise Experts, will share the latest trends and forecasts in cruising and will show that talking cruise to your customers will benefit your business.
